| CASE STUDY | |
| bright people Underground Ernie is a children's character developed via a joint venture between Joella Productions, Transport for London, the BBC - and Halsall International, a major UK-based toy company. Halsall International was awarded the master toy licence and The Studio has represented Halsall's interests throughout the project. | |
| illuminating ideas Following The Studio's success in creating packaging for Underground Ernie products, the design team was asked to create a board game, 'Station Dash', for children aged three and upwards. The game includes models of each train character including Bakerloo, Jubilee, Circle, Victoria and Hammersmith & City - and Christian Gould, Creative Director of The Studio, comments: "It was a huge challenge to design a game for very young children with short attention spans - but when we tested the product with a group of five year-olds, their laughter and high levels of concentration told us we were onto a winner." The Studio also consulted closely with the Transport for London's Head of Intellectual Property Development, who wanted to ensure the consistent high quality of TfL's merchandise. | |
| brilliant results Commenting on the range, John of Joella Productions said: "I'm delighted with the work that The Studio has created so far for Underground Ernie - and my dream is starting to become a reality!" There are further plans to develop concepts for new Ernie toys throughout 2007. |
